Castleford Tigers Women can announce the addition of young back Millie Morgan to the Tigresses squad for 2022!
The 18-year-old has previously represented Featherstone Lioness earlier in her young career and when speaking about her arrival at the club, Morgan put forward how pleased she is to be joining the Fords.
“I am really excited to be here and get stuck in! It’s my first time playing for a Super League club and it’s a great opportunity to join the team and to see what it’s like to work at this level.
“I know the captain Kaitlin (Varley) quite well, so she played a part in convincing me to come down and give it a go!”
Moving to a new team and environment at a young age can be difficult, however, the utility back claimed that it has been an easy transition due to the warm welcome she has received from her new teammates.
“It’s obviously my first time coming into a team at this standard, but all the girls get on and have been really supportive since I started training. Having that closeness off the field definitely helps on it. Matty is also really nice and he’s on it in terms of coaching.
“It makes it easier to fit in when there are a lot of girls around my age.”
Morgan’s versatility across the back line will be hugely beneficial to the Tigresses moving forward and the new signing pinpointed just what aspects of her game she likes to bring to the pitch.
“I am a player who likes to get stuck in and I am always up for trying new things out. I like taking risks on the field to try and make things happen.”
This season could mark Morgan’s Women’s Super League debut and making that step up is a challenge that the 18-year-old is ready for.
“I am really looking forward to sort of levelling up now in rugby to the Super League stage and seeing what things I need to be improving on with my game. It will be a bit daunting coming up against some of the best players because of how young I am but it’s also something I am excited about to test myself.”
