LDRL and PDRL ambassadors named

Castleford Tigers’ #25 Suaia Matagi will be the LDRL’s new ambassador, and his new role will look at supporting the various training sessions and festivals that will happen throughout the year. As somebody closely tied with the local community, the 33-year-old was pleased to accept the position and cannot wait to get started.

“I’m delighted and excited to be the ambassador for Castleford Tigers’ Learning Disability team this year. I am looking forward to meeting you all, learning about your stories and sharing some of my own experiences. See you guys soon, take care!”

He joins George Griffin who will be the Tigers’ Physical Disability Rugby League team ambassador as the squad ramp up preparations for their festival on May 21st. The prop was thrilled by his new appointment and is excited to meet the team.

“I’m absolutely ecstatic about being the PDRL ambassador. I’m really keen to come down here for your festival on the 21st May, get to see a few new faces and learn some of your stories.”

Both of the players’ commitments to each of the variant teams are highly valued by the club and embody the fantastic community spirit which surrounds Castleford. Future updates about their future involvements will be published as the season unfolds.
