Paws Dance sessions a roaring success!

It has been fantastic to see Castleford Tigers Foundation’s Paws Dance Academy classes back at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle with some great moves on show from all of the participants!

A brilliant number of around 80 dancers have been involved in the sessions over the past month or so and the Tigers Foundation’s Community Dance Development Officer, Michaela Anderson, has spoken about how great it has been to see the sessions return to Wheldon Road.

“It’s been horrible really not being able to come down to The Jungle for our dance sessions because we know how much the kids love performing on matchdays and coming down to the ground. It’s great for them just to be with friends, exercising and enjoying themselves.

“It is lovely to be back!”

Next season will hopefully see the return of the Paws and Claws dance troops on The Jungle pitch to show their routines to the Cas supporters pre-match and at half-time.

The dancers are a huge part of the matchday experience and Michaela explained how it plays a big role in terms of bringing new eyeballs to the game of Rugby League.

“The dance sessions are really important for the Tigers as a whole because not only do they entertain the crowds on matchdays, but it also brings new crowds in. They could be people who aren’t used to Rugby League because there are a lot of Mums that come to see their child perform and it is a social thing as well.

“It will be a really nice moment to see everybody back on that pitch, not just for the fans but for the girls as well. It will be lovely!”

The classes run every Wednesday at Legends Bar (Formerly Tigers Bar), and there will be a break for Christmas after the class on Wednesday 8/12/2021 before returning on Wednesday 5/1/2022. All sessions are priced at £4, and the class times are as follows:
