Partner schools prepare for the Great Big Dance Off

Castleford Tigers Foundation staff have been busy helping a number of our partner schools get ready for this year’s Great Big Dance Off competition which takes place on Monday!

The popular national dance competition, which is open to schools all across England & Wales, has its regional finals being hosted in Halifax at the Victoria Theatre.

Tigers Foundation partner schools Kippax Greenfields, Swillington Primary, Aberford Primary, and Brigshaw High School have been rehearsing over the last 6 months in preparation to compete against various schools across Yorkshire.

Dance Development manager, Michaela Anderson, who has been working on all of our partner schools’ routines, touched on how great it is to see the competition return this year.

“The top two schools go through to the national finals which are held in the summer. It is a great day for the pupils as they get to take part in the whole performance experience from putting on their stage make up, costumes and performing in front of a jam-packed theatre.

“The pupils have waited for so long to perform, missing out on two years due to Covid, Swillington in particular who progressed through to the national finals which where unfortunately cancelled due to the pandemic.”

Everyone at Castleford Tigers wish all the schools the best of luck and enjoy the day!
