It hasn’t been easy these past few months, but it’s great to know that in these unprecedented times, Tigers fans from far and wide are banding together to help support one another.
Castleford Tigers and Castleford Tigers Foundation have been able to reward a variety of key workers and their families with squad signed 2020 home shirts as a result of a very generous donation from an anonymous Tigers fan.
No doubt very grateful for this show of support and gesture of kindness from a fellow fan, our key worker recipients were delighted to receive their signed shirts and wanted to pass on their thanks to whomever had made this possible:
Stuart and Dawn, from South Elmsall: “I go to work to co-ordinate delivering food to supermarkets, but obviously my wife Dawn is different she works as a nurse for the NHS! So being on the frontline, it’s quite scary at the minute, it’s good to know that everyone us thinking about us. It’s lovely that people appreciate what you’re doing, and it’s really just your job at the end of the day!”
Emileigh, Activities Co-ordiantor at Manor Park Care Home, Cutsyke: “We’ve got loads of Cas Tigers fans here amongst the residents, so they really will love this and they’ll be so grateful for this! We’d just like to say a thank you to the anonymous donor for supporting and thinking of us and it will mean a lot to us and the residents here.”
Marie Burrow, Support worker for carers in Wakefield: “Throughout lockdown we’ve helped support the vital work as unpaid carers throughout the Wakefield district: That could be anything from parent carers to a husband and wife caring for one another. All in all we probably save the government thousands of pounds!”
Jordan, Operations Manager and Owner of Children’s Homes: “Thanks so much, as a key worker you just go to work and do your job. It’s really nice to be appreciated for doing something I love which also makes a difference to children’s lives.”
