The Café acts as a drop in centre and meeting point for tea and coffee as well as to interact with other sufferers and support workers alongside ground tours, video presentations and guest appearances from players, coaches, councillors, MP’s and special guests from the Wakefield district.

The project provides social opportunities and reminiscence activities using club memorabilia, photos, press cuttings and other stimuli to help make lives as pleasant as possible for dementia sufferers across our communities.
 

FOUNDATION FACT…

• We are working towards becoming an official ‘Dementia Friendly Venue’
• Castleford Tigers Community Director Simon Fox, is an officially registered ‘Dementia Friend’: having learnt about the effects and struggles dementia can cause, his aim it to turn that understanding into action.
• We have secured a strong delivery partnership with West Yorkshire Police and local voluntary organisation Dementia Friendly Rothwell and the Tea Cosy Café.
